Mens Sabre:
Max Brindle was competing in the Mens Sabre which had a very strong and experienced field. After the poule stages Max was ranked 26th and drawn against the 12th seed. Despite scoring very well when going forward Max lost out 12-15 to finish in 21st place.
Womens Sabre:
Steph Phennah, fresh from her 2nd place finish at the British Youth Championships, competed in the Women’s Sabre. She did very well to win all her poule matches except one to place her as first seed going into the elimination stage. After progressing well through both her quarter and semi finals stage Steph fenced against her nemesis from the poule in the final. After a promising start her opponent managed to bring the match back to parity before Steph found the energy to secure the last few hits to secure the gold medal 15-10.

Liverpool North West Junior Series
The club was delighted to send a group of junior fencers, all (of whom were fencing in their first or second competition. Competing in your first few competitions is always a very nerve wracking experience and often a huge learning curve – however the Wrexham fencers all took it in their stride and all came away having fenced very well. We also managed to secure several medals.
